Bamboo Sushi is a certified B Corp. focused on giving its customers an ethical alternative to a wildly popular yet controversial food. Sushi has received plenty of bad press surrounding environmental issues, cruel circumstances for sea creatures, and in some cases human health concerns as well. That hasn’t stopped sushi restaurants from flourishing, but it does give a serious advantage to sustainability-focused establishments like Bamboo Sushi.
“We are sustainable, and we can prove it,” the company says. “We maintain transparency and accountability for our customers through our multiple, nationally recognized certifications and rigorous, independent, third-party audits.”
Sound pricey? Think again. The founders of Bamboo Sushi wanted to ensure sustainable fish is available to all sushi lovers, so they priced their menu at a reasonable rate.
“We believe that doing the right thing should not cost more, so at Bamboo Sushi, it doesn’t. We strive to provide the highest quality products available while maintaining a reasonable price point.”
In addition to sushi and sashimi they also have a wide selection of Japanese foods that range from noodle soup and seaweed salad to grilled Kobe beef.
To top it off, Bamboo Sushi is also involved with the local community, putting on and attending events (like TEDx) that benefit social or environmental causes. They also contribute to a wide range of causes like Red Cross and Freshwater Trust.
