Chopstick Dragon Sculptures
Cafe Asiatage Promotes Grand Opening With a Wooden Beast's Roar

By: Kevin Young (Star) Jun 30, 12

A grand opening of a cafe called Asiatage went above and beyond a ribbon-cutting ceremony by inviting pedestrians to take part in creating a giant dragon made out of chopsticks.

This pan-Asian cafe located in Voskhod, Russia, really took it to the next level to deliver a grand opening as well as fulfilling people’s wishes; according to Chinese tradition, March 8 is the day where all wishes come true. This chopstick dragon sculpture was created during the Chinese Dragon Festival where a billboard was installed in front of the cafe with 11,000 punctured holes.

Promotors approached pedestrians and offered them a pair of chopsticks. Once it was split, one piece of the chopstick was inserted into the board to make the dragon while the other was meant for people to keep. The chopstick people kept were meant to fulfill their wishes and a logo on the chopstick gave people discounts. As a result, this launch reeled in a lot of media and a cafe full of guests.
