MartÃn Soler Márquez, Director of Innovation, Science and Enterprise for the Andalusian Regional Government unveiled Abengoa Solar’s first high-temperature power tower, Eureka, on June 19, 2009.
The PS10 and PS20 systems use central towers to receive solar radiation reflected from a field of dual axises sun-tracking heliostats. The concentrated radiation super-heats fluid that generates steam to operate an electricity-generating turbine, delivering green, clean and carbon-free energy.
