$1,000,000 will you get this strand of just 27 pearls, plus an art deco clasp with 11.92 carats of diamonds. These pearls are special because they are South Sea pearls of the highest quality . They're rated AAA which means they have a superb silver white lustre which are highly sought after, especially in the Asian market. They're also large at 15.06 x 17.24 mm in diameter.

South Sea pearls are not really from the South Seas. They are actually farmed in Broome, in northwestern Australia, where the ocean currents and high nutrient seawater promote the growth of extra large pearls. Even so, these pearls took 10 years to develop, several years longer than for other cultured pearls. Just to get this matched set of pearls also takes a great many oysters.

The necklace is a limited edition piece available from the New York branch of the Mikimoto company.
