The Projects for the 'Beyond the Hive' Competition 2010 are Out of this World

Seeking eco-friendly and sustainable insect habitats, the 'Beyond the Hive' competition 2010 has taken off and five projects have been shortlisted to compete.

These intricately built homes will attract tag beetles, solitary bees, butterflies, spiders and other insects and bugs. Incorporating special features such as special requirements for nesting, shelter and hibernation, these individual habitats are made specifically to accommodate each species' needs.

The habitats from 'Beyond the Hive' competition 2010 cater to the many necessities of different bugs, and it's interesting to know how what these small insects require.
