Amazing Unicycling Robots

Murata Girl is a Modern Mechanical Wonder

Murata Girl is a unicycling robot, she is also the cousin of Murata Boy a bicycle riding robot who was created in 2005 by Japan-based Murata Manufacturing.

Murata Girl was modeled after a primary school-aged child and uses sensors to keep her balanced and a robotic brain to help her change direction (backward or forwards). The 5kg unicycling robot is also equipped with an electronic eye that tells her if she is going to bump into anything and a series of gyroscopes to keep her balanced when she is stationary.

Using Bluetooth technology Murata Girl can also be programmed as a guide. The company uses the unicycling robot in schools to promote science education and on television to advertise the brand.
