The Upper House Luxurious Bathrooms Impress on Many Levels

The Upper House, Hong Kong’s newest boutique luxury hotel, impresses on many levels: high quality finishings, a free “maxi-bar,” and sweeping views. But in a city where 300 square foot rooms are expected, 300 square foot bathrooms are not. And they are standard at the Upper House.

Views from both the standalone bathtub and shower are just as spectacular as from the bedroom. The rain shower (picture 9) is divine--one wonders how it was ever possible to shower without it.

My other favorite touches? A TV in the mirror facing the bathtub. Bath salts and oils, and a padded backrest in the bathtub. Finally, the thoughtful amenity kit by the sink rather than scattered toiletries.

This bathroom is a winner.
