Super Strong Plastic Concrete

Henry Miller Builds a Brighter Future With Landfill Waste

Trey Farmer fancies using recycled materials is “hotter than Hansel in a black shirt on a summer Sunday,” but who would have believed it would be so hot that plastic concrete would come of it? Well, believers and unbelievers alike, plastic concrete is now available all thanks to recent RPI Masters of Architecture graduate Henry Miller.

By grinding up plastic waste and mixing it with portland cement, Henry Miller created a material just as strong as traditional concrete made with mined aggregate: plastic concrete.

Aside from introducing a viable energy-saving, eco-friendly plastic concrete process, this innovative idea also won him first place in the “Component Category” of the Concrete Thinking for a Sustainable World competition.
