On day 2 of London Fashion Week, plus size models showed off some haute designs in the show by Mark Fast. The models' appearance in Fast’s show may be a sign of what’s to come for the rest of London Fashion Week. Among the shows, there will be models sizes 8 to 16 and ages up to 65 years old.
A reminder here, ‘plus size’ model means ‘closer to real’ woman. Mark Fast said that the three fabulous models in his show were friends of his, but that’s not the only reason the catwalk is seeing some realistic models. Fellow designer Caryn Franklin is launching her book “All Walks Beyond the Catwalk,” which seeks to include all sizes and shapes of women in the fashion world.
With the inclusion of the plus size models, Mark Fast wanted to show that all women can look great in his designs. Fast is known for styles that bring knitting to high style.
