Reclaimed Scrap Metal Art by David Nyquist Challenges Traditions of Canvas

By creating eye-catching, colorful and emotional works of art on reclaimed scrap metal, David Nyquist automatically challenges the traditional thinking that “paintings” require new material to evoke emotions. Definitely not the case here.

In addition to reclaimed metal, David Nyquist suspended his works using reclaimed, outdated ethernet cable. A no-brainer procedure other artists should think about adopting. David is part of Art Project Reclamation, a Fernseed collaboration.

Implications - Art has grown to include different mediums. The involvement of recycled materials has created an eco-art category. By re-using these materials, the artist can feel a self-accomplishment not only with their work, but how they generated and created the eco art.
