Oil Drum Furniture

Francois Royer Creates a Rock(ing) Chair Out of Steel

François Royer has created the most unique pieces of recycled furniture I have seen yet. Made of an old oil drum, this Rock(ing) Chair seems perfect for the seating area for a contemporary home.

The seat inside is made of waxen smoked bamboo, while the outer oil drum is painted in a vibrant orange colour.

Implications - The rise of environmentalism has inspired consumers to opt for items made from recycled, repurposed or found materials to decrease their home's carbon footprint. Furniture made from recycled industrial parts and materials meets this requirement and adds an element of durability. Companies can take advantage of this opportunity by using recycled materials in their product lineup.
