Karl Lagerfeld Designs Ballet-Inspired Shoe for Repetto

Karl Lagerfeld has designed a shoe with removable parts that are sure to make it greatly sought after in these difficult times. Working with Repetto, who has a long history of making ballet shoes for some of the world’s greatest dancers, Lagerfeld designed each shoe with what Style.com calls a removable “tutu skirt.”

The addition or subtraction of this ballet-inspired detail will instantly transform the look of the shoe from girly to edgy. The shoe is available in black, white and navy, and it comes in either a flat or high heel version. The shoes hit stores this Thursday as a part of Karl Lagerfeld’s Spring 2009 collection and will be available at upscale retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman.
