Indian Palace Jewelry – Manju Jasty's Luxury Accessories Inspired by Her Heritage

Manju Jasty's Luxury Accessories Inspired by Her Heritage

Having graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business, Manju Jasty pursued a successful career as an investment banker at Barclays Capital for nearly ten years before following her true passion for the world of fine jewelry. A very romantic coincidence, her name is derivative of “jewelry box” in her native India’s Sanskrit.

While she was working in the world of finance, she would create a special piece for herself each year with fine materials found in India and with the help of skilled craftsmen. Her inspiration to break free from her daily grind/routine came from complimentary inquiries about her designs from family and friends.

Jasty has sold a small collection at Barney’s since last year but is now expanding her line of high-end pieces. The designer uses only the highest EFG-graded diamonds and other very high quality materials making her pieces anything but recession-friendly. They are, however, pieces you will always wear and keep as treasures.

Jasty says “While they may appear delicate, each piece in the collection is quite sturdy and feels wonderful against the skin. Wearing jewelry should be a physical pleasure and source of joy.”

Jasty explains to fashion magazine Vogue that, for inspiration, she turns to the architecture of Indian palaces and the elaborate textiles for which the area is known. She also looks to traditional Indian jewelry and presents it with a lighter tone and more contemporary feel.
