The puffy down jacket has never looked as futuristic as it did on the Junya Watanabe runway in Paris. Many of the coats resembled beehives in their ringed and flared shiny black quilted material. Paired with space-age orbital collars, the Jetsons went Goth in this RTW Fall 2009 collection.
The styling of the models was another thing. The girls’ hair was jet black and piled as high as was possible for them to still safely maneuver down the runway, and their faces were painted geisha white with black contouring that gave them an ultra-edgy illustrated look.
