Walls Made of Phonebooks

The 'ScrapHouse' Made of Salvaged Goods Is Surprisingly Stylish

Built entirely of recycled materials, the ScrapHouse was designed and constructed by a team of San Francisco architects, artists, contractors, city officials and engineers using only scrap and salvaged materials. The project was carried out as a way to educate and encourage sustainable, environmentally-friendly living. This house is a fantastic example of how we can create stylish, functional, eco-friendly housing with creativity, innovation, passion and care. Salvaging and re-using materials is also a lot cheaper than using new materials!

My favorite feature of the Scraphouse is the Phone Book walls. Each year when I get my new phone book in the mail, I think about how wasteful it is to use so much paper for something that has to be replaced each year, especially when you can find phone numbers online.
