Michelle Obama Dazzles in Peter Soronen At Governor's Dinner

Oscar winners head to the Governor’s Ball, normally hosted by the California Governor, but the hottest place to be was an entire continent away. Only the new stars on the scene, the Obamas, especially Michelle Obama, could steal the spotlight at a political dinner.

This was the first black tie event for the new President Obama and his first lady. Michelle Obama chose a dazzling strapless black dress from Peter Soronen highlighted with a multistrand necklace from Tom Binns. The new president made his first lady look great with his elegant black tux.

Michelle Obama sat next to California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and they no doubt discussed activities on the left coast. Michelle Obama chose a stunning upswept hair do with gorgeous simple earrings.
