Obama Continues to Inspire Los Angeles Graffiti Artists

What is Obama doing on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles? Obama is taking over, literally! If you have ever walked down the Melrose strip (between La Brea Ave. & Fairfax Ave.) you probably have an idea of what I’m talking about; if not, then you should take a walk there.

As you walk down Melrose, you will see graffiti everywhere of the infamous portrait of Obama dressed as Superman as well as the famous stickers (designed by Obey’s Shepard Fairey). As you are walking towards La Brea Ave, you come across an amazing store called Buckaroo who strongly supports our President-elect by selling quirky Obama shirts. The shirts that tend to be the most popular are the “Obama is my homeboy!” tees.

One of the other Melrose stores supporting Obama is the DCMA Collective flagship store (co-owned by Joel Madden from the band Good Charlotte) located on Martel Ave. and Melrose Ave. They have both girls’ and guys’ shirts that say “Obama Hope,” which are often worn by both Benji and Joel.
