With the deeds to every celestial body in his possession, Dennis Hope of Lunar Embassy is either the most large-scale scam artist or the next real estate billionaire. He’s been selling parcels of land on the Moon for $20 an acre, and somehow it’s grown into a $9 million business.

Dennis Hope has been at his shenanigans for a few years now, but his company, Lunar Embassy, has made headlines this morning after Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich, a noted spendthrift, purchased 100 acres of land on the moon for his girlfriend Dasha.

I’m at a loss for words. Is this guy serious?

There’s been quite a bit of controversy surrounding the validity of Dennis Hope and Lunar Embassy’s claims to extraterrestrial ownership, but the sales continue to pour in. And according to an interview Hope did on a radio show, which is excerpted in the video above, his company has conducted business relatively unchallenged.
