Soda Can Underwear

Trashy Lingerie

Ingrid Goldbloom Bloch makes armor-grade underwear out of recycled soda cans and tabs which she calls Trashy Lingerie! She also uses gutter guards, rivets, washers, and washing machine hose clamps from the hardware store to help her complete her creations.

If you are wondering if all that hardware is going to be comfortable, the answer is no! These are her mixed media sculptures and her way of seeing beauty in ordinary objects. She designs this way because she wants to, as Bloch says, “… try to draw the viewer in to take a closer look at materials and objects that ordinarily go unnoticed and see them in a new light.” Her attention to detail is something to marvel about when you look carefully at her closeup shots.
