Opportunistic Charging

The iYo-Yo

As much as yo-yos are fun, they are now also a very green and hip way to charge your electronics. The Apple iYo comes from Swedish designer Peter Thuvander.

The lithium ion cell wind-up remote is based on the OLPC crank.

"The remote control needs only 30 cranks--which is nothing when you yo-yo," says Thuvander. "I think I'd at least use it as an emergency device for all the dead iPhone moments I have."

The technology is way beyond me, but if it works and looks as cool as it does in these pictures, then I must have one.
