Newspaper Couture

'Wear the News' by Elena Gregusova

Newspaper fashion by Elena Gregusova is anything but 'trashy'. In fact, the recycled fashion is extremely creative and sculptural. The designer and her photographer husband (Martin Gregus) and jewellery designer daughter as her model, have put together an exhibition in North Vancouver called 'EnviroCouture' which Gregusova says is” Haute Art from the Waste Container.”

This collection of imaginative outfits, trademarked, 'Wear the News', is made entirely from newspapers and the pieces have names like, “Sound of Mozart”, “Newton's Spectrum”, “Santa Maria 1492” and “Stars of Galileo”. These photographs were all taken by Gregusova's talented husband Martin Gregus and modelled by her daughter Barbara.

Gregusova was born in Bratislava, Slovakia and currently is living in Vancouver, Canada.
