Commedia Dell'Arte

In commemoration of their 260th anniversary, Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg invited 16 world-famous fashion designers to clothe the limited edition Commedia Dell'Arte Couture Edition figurines.

The clothes of The Commedia dell'Arte set, which was originally designed by Franz Anton Bustelli during 1759, has been given a contemporary interpretation by 21st century fashion designers. The modern designers include Viktor & Rolf, Vivienne Westwood, Christian Lacroix, Elie Saab, Adeline Andre, Damiano Biella, Igor Chapurin, Esteban Cortazar, Maurizio Galante, Gustavo Lins, Pascal Millet, Gareth Pugh, Ralph Rucci, Dominique Sirop, Franck Sorbier and Naoki Takizawa.

Each exclusive, exquisite Italian character is priced at $20,000. Only a limited edition of 25 pieces will be produced for each design.

The Commedia Dell'Arte Couture Edition debuted last month in Schloss Nymphenburg, Munich.
