Morbid Reality Performance Art

Near Death Performance Art is Shocking and Provocative

Near Death performance art experience curated by Vela Phelan is a project that features the fragile duality of life and death analogized to the duality of body and time.

The performance, featuring the artists Jeff Huckleberry, Faith Johnson, Gustavo Alvarez, Travis McCoy Fuller, Marilyn Arsem &Jamie McMurry, makes an effort to expose its audience of their continuous immediacy to death.

“Near Death is a moment of absolute existence, where one receives life and death equally and finds themselves out of body and out of the standard structures of time.” Phelan describes. The morbid subject matter perspective-broadening performance will challenge the audience to perceive and grasp the proximity that stands between their everyday lives and the seemingly far-fetched concept of death.

The performance art experience will take place on February 2nd and 3rd, 2013 at Fourth Wall Project in Boston, Massachusetts.
