Recycled Bicycle Art Competitions

The pART PROJECT Makes Use of Discarded Materials

Chicago's bicycle company SRAM has joined up with the pART COMPETITION in an effort to foster incredible works of recycled art. Over 80 artists participated in the initiative which made use of 100 bike pieces.

These ecologically-minded two-wheeler structures turn gears and chains into images of lions, deer skulls and ostriches. What were once discarded parts are now valuable collectables, the product of the work of designers like Billie Grace Lynn, Lewis Tardy, Ilana Sepctor and Mark Grieve.

All that has come of the pART COMPETITION will be put up for auction in New York. The proceeds will be donated to World Bicycle Relief, a charity that donates bicycles to those in need who reside in Africa. The inexpensive mode of transportation will improve citizen access to healthcare and education.
