The Hechtel-Eksel Tree House is the latest creation by German-based architecture firm Baumraum. Similar to their past designs, this is more like a house among the trees than an actual treehouse. Standing on stilts does elevate the structure to the level of the treetops.
Located in the Flemish Forest of Belgium, the Hechtel-Eksel Tree House was commissioned by the international paper producer Sappi and its communications agency Proximity BBDO. It was designed to show the company's continued commitment to sustainability and environmental protection. It is made up of two cabins on different levels, an interconnecting terrace, stairs and, of course, some steel supports. By using self-screwing supports instead of concrete, the Hechtel-Eksel Tree House reduces its impact on the forest floor.
