The latest footwear from designer Rene van den Berg, Scary Beautiful, is aptly titled. Like the awkward ballerina-inspired heels designed by Alexander McQueen and worn by Lady Gaga, the Scary Beautiful shoe teeters dangerously, hence giving its name added meaning. Unlike the McQueen heel, however, this shoe reverses the heel, putting it on the shin just below the knees instead of on the heel.
The Scary Beautiful heel gives the wearer an ungraceful posture. With knees bent and a hunched back, the wearer would appear more like a wild animal than anything else. Secured with buckles, Scary Beautiful may not seem like the most practical shoe on the market, but it is certainly one of the more intriguing ones, especially with Halloween around the corner.
