Vega Zaishi Wang Lights up the Fashion Scene with 'Alpha Lyrae'

The new Vega Zaishi Wang Alpha Lyrae collection brightens up the night with an ambiance and structure that resembles paper lanterns. Made using electroluminescent fabric, more likely to be found in your car's dashboard than in your wardrobe, this collection is an evolution of the designer's previous 'Into the Deep' collection inspired by the natural luminosity of jellyfish and other deep sea creatures.

Presented as instillation art in its recent Beijing debut, Alpha Lyrae, is a joint collaboration with UFO Media Lab. The result is a collection of very structural pieces, including shoes, jackets and dresses, decorated with light-up supernova galaxy imagery.
The Vega Zaishi Wang Alpha Lyrae collection appears to float in the dark, lighting up the night with effervescent glow much like a starry sky would.
