Spanish designers Jordi Poblet and Carla Cava of the Australian Den Studio have created a set of kangaroo-inspired illuminators that invite owners to actively participate in their assembly.

The Mum Koolah and the Joey Koolah comprise the same components but differ in scale. A system of slots in their pale wooden parts enable you to construct the floor lamp and the table lamp using no hardware or glues. The actual electrical fixture is surprisingly easy to install and the lampshade requires beginners' stitching skills. Aside from the fun had while piecing the Koolah Lamps together, one can appreciate the cost-effectiveness of shipping disassembled parts and the energy conservation associated with minimized manufacturing.
