Ripped Layered Snapshots

Scott Hazzard's Torn Wormhole Photographs are Enticing

These Torn Wormhole photographs by Scott Hazzard create an interesting sense of depth by layering photos and tearing them to appear as though the viewer is about to enter a new world.

A landscape artist from Raleigh, North Carolina, Scott's work has been featured in Second Street Gallery in Charlottesville, Roanoke College and The Atlantic Center for the Arts. Scott's Torn Wormhole photographs seem to be his favorite form of art, as his previous work contained torn pieces of text placed in a way to created landscapes.

Each photo in the Torn Wormhole photograph series consists of an off-centered wormhole that is simply built by layered copies on one photo. On his site, Hazzard says that "as the viewer’s gaze enters and traverses the layers of images in each construct, vision becomes tactile, lending an articulated viewing experience and a space for the eyes to linger in each image."
