Artists are always trying to come up with new and exciting ways to showcase their work and now, artists Bruce Wayland and Marcello DeSimone of Little Owl Designs break the mold with 'Altered Perspectives,' a collection of dishware used as canvases.
The large mixed media collection consists of beautiful paintings on equally beautiful assorted plates. The dishes are laid out in a way that pieces together like a puzzle, but prompts the viewer to imagine the remainder of the painting by filling in the empty spaces. Most of the paintings have a square-like outline, while others consist of intricate portraits. The merging of these two mediums creates a unique juxtaposition between rugged canvas-like paintings and glossy printed plates.
Each plate is produced by various European tableware designers and combined with Fauve fine art paintings. This series really does give an Altered Perspective on traditional art.
