Freaky Fly Close-Ups

The Macro Photos of Insect Eyes by Shikhei Goh are Shocking

Shikhei Goh has captured some dangerously close macro photos of insect eyes. At first glance these photos are shocking to look at because it is seemingly impossible to catch such intimate photos of insect eyes. The insects appear to be robotic, and the photos show the variety of colors and details on the body of each insect. The water droplets magnify the colors of the eyes as they glisten in the light. Goh's other photographs include images of turtles, lizards, birds, flowers and fauna.

Shikhei Goh is a self-taught photographer living in Batam Island, Indonesia, and began taking pictures in March 2011. He claims to be a macro junkie, and has captured some incredible shoots after some trial and error.
