The Sannah Kvist 'All I Own' photography project explores the culture of materialism and hoarding habits. The series consists of images of various subjects -- all born in the 80s -- sitting next to their stacked possessions. Kvist also chose to isolate his subject range to those without permanent residences, thus constantly moving in and out of boxes.
The way the items were organized are reflective of the participants themselves. The subjects were given complete control over the formation of their material sculpture. The Swedish artist noticed how owners would hide certain objects in the back, while positioning others in the foreground. There was a clear hierarchy and fondness of certain possessions over others. Other artists like Kiel Johnson have also explored the idea of materialistic needs becoming part of today's social dynamic.
