Record-Breaking Space Leaps (UPDATE)

Red Bull Stratos Project Attempts 120,000-Foot Jump Again

After being put on hold in 2010 due to a lawsuit from Daniel Hogan, a California promoter who claimed the idea was originally his, the Red Bull Stratos Project is being launched again. The project involves Austrian athlete Felix Baumgartner, who will skydive from a balloon placed in the stratosphere at 120,000 feet. This will break four records simultaneously, as it will be the highest manned balloon flight, the highest skydive and the longest freefall, says Popsop. The event will also mark the first time someone has broken the speed of sound without being protected within an aircraft.

To promote the Red Bull Stratos Project, Red Bull and Rockpool Digital have created a dedicated website as well as interactive social media components that provide viewers with more facts and information about the record-breaking mission. Its website will also offer viewers a live broadcast of the exciting skydive.
