Eerie Missing Person Photos

'Last Seen' by Jason Hynes Documents Mysterious Locations

When a person goes missing, their last known location often becomes a vessel of memories and mystery, and a ghostly quality seems to take over the area, as shown in the photo series 'Last Seen' by Jason Hynes.

English photographer Hynes describes the ongoing project as, "a stream of lost moments. The people who have gone have left an emotional residue on a place that may have otherwise been seen as insignificant." Traveling throughout England, he's captured a variety of places on film, all of them possessing a haunting quality. From missing person cases dating back to 1992 to more recent reports from 2008, each photo tells a side to the story not often explored.

Last Seen by Jason Hynes serves as both a breathtaking work of art and a reminder of tragic events, and is one photo series I will certainly be keeping track of.
