Japanese Government Turns to ASIMO to Secure the Fukushima Core

In the 11 years since Honda pieced together ASIMO, the anthropoid robot has evolved in his abilities. Whereas the automotive manufacturer was embarrassed time and time again by the bot's poor balance and dexterity, Honda is so confident in their invention that it's sending ASIMO into the nuclear depths of Fukushima.

Capable of carrying objects, greeting humans and running on flat surfaces, ASIMO is prepared for the job ahead. But first, the loveable robo will have its upper body upgraded and its legs replaced with treads before its sent into the foreboding Fukushima Daiichi plant.

ASIMO may not be the first robot sent into the Fukushima power core, but it may be the first to return unscathed. Only time will tell!
