The German designer worked closely with artisans including Ilse Walther, Anja van Kempen, Carolin Ebert, Lore Wild,
Monika Frischknecht and Claudia Rieger to collaborate on a rather poetic project which melds man-made refuse with thriving natural components. Broken and discarded trash cans and buckets are fixed right up with intricate weaving of sustainably grown rattan, wicker and weed, all manufactured by hand. The primarily plastic found objects bring bold colors into the mix, while the plaited patterns of the braided baskets make Bow Bins by Cordula Kehrer truly one-of-a-kind objects -- and way too good for carrying litter.
