Hotel Made from Repurposed Concrete

Das Park Hotel

At first blush, sleeping in a tube of concrete might not sound so appealing. However, Das Park Hotel, located on the banks of the Danube near Linz, Austria, just might change your mind. The "hotel," designed by an Austrian art college graduate, features sleeping pods which are retrofitted concrete drain pipes, and which accommodate a queen bed, night table and a window. Bathroom and restaurant facilities are shared with a nearby public space, and the price? Pay what you can.
