Recycled Furniture

Chairs Made From Playstation consoles

England's Pli Design brings us the Reee Chair, made from recycled Playstation 2 casings. The frame is made from powdercoated steel for strength and durability. The Ree uses 2.3kg of used plastic, and is also designed for disassembly and further recycling, repair or refurbished. The Reee is scheduled for release in September, 2007.

Implications - This trend represents the green movement that has risen due to consumers' environmental concerns. Recycling different products to use as materials is an opportunity for businesses to gain awareness and also gain the appreciation of the modern-day consumer who seeks more eco-conscious products in their everyday life. Creating new products out of existing products that a brand has created will gain more exposure and brand appreciation for them.
