Cannabis Grow Houses Cropping up in US

Police have been raiding pot-growing operations all along the east coast of the US; over 70 grow houses in the State of Georgia alone during the last 6 weeks. Ordinary looking suburban middle class homes that have been functioning as indoor marijuana farms can yield over $3 million annually.

In 2006, the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) busted operations earning over $6.4 billion in the US.

Grow houses are using hydroponics technology and 24-hour lighting to produce more plants. Hydroponics employs a nutrient solution, rather than soil, to grow the cannabis. Police have been relying on tip-offs and local power companies to report suspicious activities.

Makes you want to become a volunteer fire fighter, doesn't it?
