Father-and-son hairstylists Daniel and Luke Hersheson have opened a new blowdry bar at Topshop's London flagship store, the first of its kind in the UK market - a similar concept is now being planned for New York.

Housed within a purpose-built, bubblegum pink pod on the lower ground floor, the lozenge-shaped mini-salon accommodates a hairwashing area, and space for three styling positions in front of a mirrored wall.

No appointment is necessary and customers are invited to choose from a menu of seven core hairstyles. The choices represent hairstyles from key fashion eras, including the 1940s, Rita Hayworth-inspired Expensive Hair; 1960s, Biba-influenced Super-straight; the 1980s, Cindy Crawford-esque Big and Bouncy, and the ultra-modern Wavy Gravy, as seen on Kate Moss.
