Melting Vases

Dripping Modern Decor

These gorgeous melting, dripping vases are part of artist Pieke Bergmans' 'Design Virus' series. She was asked by Al-Sabah Art & Design Collection to create a new version of the series for the ALEF exhibition at Design Miami.

Pieke Bergmans' working method is rather odd. Her technique is to drop hand-blown glass vases on different objects such as chairs, ladders and tables to organically create these bulging shapes. Be sure to watch the video above to see how this is done.
