2008 US Open “Glam Slam” Outfits

The 2008 US Ladies Open has turned into quite the “Glam Slam” event.  Gracing the catwalk, err, tennis court, are tennis racket toting women dressed in an array of cocktail-like tennis attire, sporty short outfits, cute denim wear, and adorable minis. Notice I left out the “could be mistaken for Britney Spears” look-a-like, Bethanie Mattek, who is seen sporting a tawdry leopard ensemble.

Maria Sharapova dazzled spectators in her elegant, Audrey Hepburn inspired open-back cocktail tennis outfit with a shimmery neckline, and satin ribbon at the waistline that lead around to her alluring back. Also donning cocktail tennis attire was Venus Williams and her sister Serena who are known to typically “pooh-pooh” fashion on the court.

Elena Dementieva is pictured wearing a winsome denim look from top to bottom.  Cute Shara Peer shows off her athletic legs in a flirty pink mini. Looking stunning in a light blue tennis dress is Nicole Vaidisova.  And of course, the ever so glamorous and beautiful Ana Ivanovic captivated the audience with a sheer purple shirt and white flowing mini.

One thing is for sure, the 2008 US Open Ladies have aced it in the fashion department… except for Bethanie, in my opinion anyway.
