French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg has replaced actress Jennifer Connelly as the face of Balenciaga's fall/winter collection. The ad campaign was shot by David Simms in West Hollywood, where the new Balenciaga store is located.

Nicolas Ghesquière, the house of Balenciaga's creative director, chose to portray the French actress as a sophisticated and stylish yet bland, expressionless automaton. A fembot if you will.
