Feminine Accessories for Men

Marc Jacobs' Andrew Grima Necklace

Marc Jacobs seems to have more than a passing fascination with cross-dressing these days. He wore a dress and high heels in his recent Interview magazine shoot. He dressed a male model in women's clothes in his new ad campaign. He's been holding a black clutch almost everywhere he goes the past few months. And on the Richard Prince Serpentine Gallery opening, which was hosted by Louis Vuitton, he surprised everyone by wearing an emerald and gold crystalline necklace by Andrew Grima.

When asked about the peculiar choice of necklace, Jacobs explained, "I went shopping for a swimsuit today and came back with this. It's a woman's piece. I wondered, 'Can I wear it?' Then I thought, 'Why not? I can wear what I like!'"

I commend Marc for his outlook. People should wear what they want and like, not what the society thinks they should wear. Of course, it helps when you are a famous fashion designer. Normal folks might not get away with it that easily...
