Garbage-Filled Furniture

XS Chair

Nick Demarco, a sophomore at the California College of the Arts, wanted to take a more direct and flexible approach to recycling. Why wait for the complicated process of recycling used material when you can do it directly inside his XS Chair?

You can fill the XS Chair with anything you want: old clothes, magazines or as he did in the prototype that he showcased at the 20th annual International Contemporary Furniture Fair, garbage and bottles.

I love the idea, you can use it to store your Winter clothes in the Summer and vice versa.

Nick's design has already been picked up for production and it will be made of a recycled plastic mesh. Watch the above video to see him describe his design.
