Christian Dior-Chids

John Galliano, the creative genius behind the Christian Dior label, sought his inspiration for the the fall/winter 2008 collection from 1961, the year the Dior house declared: "Never forget the woman." But, upon closer inspection of the color palette, pattern choices, and cuts, blogger Trendinista found striking similarities between his collection and wild orchids.

Implications - The color palette is simply stunning featuring bright pinks, oranges, greens and purples. It is definitely a change, since many designers feature darker colors for fall and winter seasons. The images in the gallery feature bright dresses with jeweled patterns, geometric shapes and swirly circles. The models are rock solid-colored headbands and exaggerated eye makeup.
