Human-Cow Embryos

Humow?

Newcastle University in England, has created a world first human-cow embryos. Could someone explain to me why this is necessary? I know, I know stem cell research.

It is being hailed by the scientific community, but labelled "monstrous" by those who oppose it. Injecting human DNA into eggs from cows' ovaries, a team has grown hybrid embryos. The embryos survived for three days. This is being done to provide a limitless supply of stem cells for those awful diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and spinal cord injuries in order to overcome a worldwide shortage of human embryos.

Now I'm a spinal cord injury myself and this bothers me. I'd rather stay in my chair. But that's just me. There's got to be a better way. Man it's going to be long time before I eat steak again.
