The AI Stool (artificial intelligence) was designed by Assa Ashuach who used cutting edge 3D technology to design and build the limited edition seat. A special software was written to allow the designer to put in parameters, while the rest was done by computer. Ashuach inputs the concept and where the load capacity occurs.
Only 30 were made and are retailing for just under $20,000.
Implications - This extravagantly priced piece of avant-garde furniture was created using laser sintering, and the chair is made up of both hard and soft intelligent structures.
At such an expensive price and with its limited edition sales push, don't expect to see too many of these around. But don't let that detract from this product's amazing ingenuity.
