There is no shortage to gourmet chocolate available the world over, but Sarah Endline, former Yahoo exec and Harvard MBA, had a mission: to create a healthier answer to our chocolate cravings. Research involving fellow-chocoholics resulted in Sweetriot, bite-sized nibbles of pure cacao bean covered in dark chocolate, and packaged in tins gussied up by the work of up-and-coming artists.

Chocolate has held us under its spell for thousands of years. The ancient Mayans worshipped the stuff, and we have explorer Hernando Cortez to thank for bringing the cacao bean back to the New World, sparking a love affair that has gone on for centuries.

Deriving its name from a phrase that translates to "food for the gods", chocolate indeed has heavenly properties. In its purest form, the cacao bean is low in sugar and rich in antioxidants.
