To take a common devise such as an umbrella and turn it into an agent for living a healthier life and protecting the environment is quite a feat in my mind. The Filterbrella by Andrew Leinonen is a special eco-friendly concept umbrella that filters rain water and turns it into potable drinking water. The umbrella’s canopy is made of compostable polylactic acid plastic blends and there is a carbon filter attached to the handle that provides the user with drinking, potable water on the go.
The Filterbrella is still a concept, but hopefully it will go into commercial production some time soon.
